Big Sky Country

We kicked off March in Montana at Uncle Kit and Auntie Heidy's vacation home. We had visited around the same time last year, but this year we were lucky enough to enjoy 6+ inches of fresh snow! After a few tentative first steps in his new boots, Will embraced the white stuff with gusto. We tried to build a snow man, but when we got to the second level, Will mashed it down. Then he asked, "Where's Frosty?" Our initial response was, "Oh no, you killed Frosty!" After it happened two more times, we put on our less violent/more PC parenting hats and answered, "Well, Will, it looks like you took care of Frosty!" Hmm. In retrospect, perhaps we were wearing our Godfather hats when we said that. Where was that post about Will channeling Brando?

Anyway. Suffice to say, we had a great time in the snow!

Along the roadside, we also saw deers [sic] (Will pointed out that these were "not reindeers, just deers"), sheeps [sic], and a remarkable number of horses!

On Saturday, we visited with Mama's college buddy, Julie D., and her two children, Keegan and Caroline, at Julie's parent's condo in Big Sky. Fellow Tar Heel and dad Dan D. was there in spirit. 5-year-old Keegan had returned from a day on the slopes with his grandpa, while 3-year-old Caroline was a most excellent hostess to Will, showing him, among other things, the old-school View-Masters that grandma had kept from the good old days!

Then, it was Mom and Dad's turn to hit the slopes. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day at Bridger Bowl. Will spent the morning at Playcare while we shushed our way down the mountain through fresh snow. No wind, no lift lines, just pure Montana big sky.

Okay, we digress. Back to Will. Aunt Linnie and Uncle Larry already got him his first ski pass! We're hoping to get him out on the rope tow next year. Look out, Bridger Bowl, here comes trouble!

Risky Business

Oh dear. Is this a scene from the morning after a future frat party? Or, Risky Business comes to mind.

Time for Coffee

As we were eating breakfast this morning, Will looked thoughtfully at me and said (and I quote), "Mama, it looks like someone's a little tired."

I wonder where he's heard that before?

2) Crackers
3) Bananas

Recently, it was updated to include:
1) Zucchini
2) Hummus Dip
3) Milk

Most recently, it was updated to include:
1) Cherries
2) Peaches
3) Milk (again)

We'll keep you posted as new items are added.

Hittin' the Haight

We're lucky to have an open lot in the neighborhood that's designated as a "bicycle training area." Will tore it up with Daddy the other day. In a month or so, the Farmer's Market will return to this spot. Stay tuned for Will's impressions of all the fresh produce and local fare!

Yep, It's February!

Don't worry. We'll be eating crow when it's 50 degrees and foggy in July.
