4th of July in Seattle

Will took his first trip to Seattle over Fourth of July Weekend to visit Aunt Linnie and Uncle Larry. Highlights from our visit included:
  • The beach at Lake Washington, followed by a barbecue with friends Lisa, Charles, Stephen and Thomas. (We somehow don't have a photo of this!)
  • The Seattle Center Monorail. Built for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair, this monorail is the nation's first full-scale commercial monorail system. "System" might be a bit generous in describing the monorail's route, but Will was very excited to add this unique form of transportation to the list of modes under his belt.

  • The Seattle Children's Museum, where Will especially liked driving a fire truck and learning how to throw a hula hoop.

  • Making pizza with Aunt Linnie and Uncle Larry while Mom and Dad enjoyed a date night in Madrona.

  • The cool trestle bridge-sidewalk over the forested ravine in between Aunt Linnie and Uncle Larry's house and the wine bar.
  • Jumping on Aunt Linnie and Uncle Larry's bed with Mt. Rainier in the background in their picture window.
  • A sunny morning spent sliding at Seward Park, with another spectacular view of Mount Rainier.
